Tungsten carbide is one of the most important carbide and catalytically active compounds. Currently, more than 60% of the processing of these metals is used to obtain carbides. In industry, tungsten carbide is obtained in two ways: metal carbidization and aluminometric reduction of ores and concentrates. Both methods involve a significant number of time-consuming and complex steps. The production of tungsten carbides by high-temperature electrochemical synthesis from melts is at the level of semi-industrial tests. Hard alloys tungsten carbide - cobalt were the first metal-ceramic hard alloys that received industrial application. In order to return valuable components of hard alloys to production, it is necessary to find the possibility of processing secondary waste containing these components. For the production of hard alloys, matrices of used drilling and cutting tools can be used. Due to the shortage of tungsten and cobalt in recent years, the development of new methods for processing lumpy hard alloy 104 waste is very relevant. The existing methods for isolating the components of hard alloys differ from each other not only in the mode of processing, but also in the nature of the chemical reagents used. Therefore, it is relevant to develop methods that will allow the processing of waste hard alloys tungsten carbide-cobaltate to obtain a high percentage of output WO3.

Карбід вольфраму є одним з найважливіших карбідних і каталітично активних сполук. В даний час більше 60% обробки цих металів йде на отримання карбідів. У промисловості карбід вольфраму отримують двома способами: карбидизацией металів і алюмінометричним відновленням руд і концентратів. Обидва методи включають значну кількість трудомістких і складних кроків. Виробництво карбідів вольфраму методом високотемпературного електрохімічного синтезу з розплавів знаходиться на рівні напівпромислових випробувань. Тверді сплави карбід вольфраму - кобальт були першими металокерамічними твердими сплавами, які отримали промислове застосування. Для повернення цінних компонентів твердих сплавів у виробництво необхідно знайти можливість переробки вторинних відходів, що містять ці компоненти. Для виробництва твердих сплавів можуть використовуватися матриці використаних свердлильних і ріжучих інструментів. У зв'язку з дефіцитом вольфраму і кобальту в останні роки розробка нових методів переробки кускових відходів твердого сплаву 104 є дуже актуальною. Існуючі методи виділення компонентів твердих сплавів відрізняються один від одного не тільки способом обробки, але і характером використовуваних хімічних реактивів. Тому актуальною є розробка методів, які дозволять переробити відходи твердих сплавів карбід-кобальтат вольфраму з отриманням високого відсотка виходу WO3.
